Casey Evans, Creative Director, Crown

"If we consider the most desired skills of the future and the advent of AI we know that Creativity is going to be one of the top skills employees will be looking for. Barclays work in championing Creativity to a young audience through Creative Horizons is not only good business sense but socially provides an amazing opportunity for a diverse range of young Creatives to explore ways in which they can potentially deploy their creativity when they enter the world of further education or work. I particularly love how the foundation of Creative Horizons is in supporting young people to engage with multiple disciplines rather than narrowing their options too early. It’s a such a fun, exciting and positive initiative to be a part of."

Paul Lyrick, Corporate Relations Programme Manager, Barclays

"My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience at the Create Horizons event. The effect of this experience still lives on, evident by her taking on additional work in her art curriculum and pushing herself into areas of seemingly no previous interest… and loving it. This has also had a positive impact on others, namely myself her dad who having seen this enthusiasm in my daughter naturally wants to encourage a passion develop. Consequently I looked into a branch of art to instigate the type of conversations between us we would not have had previously. Moving away from my instigated instrumental conversation (‘how’s school?’, ‘what’s Amy doing this weekend?’, ‘have you got any homework?’ etc.) into the subjective debate of art, sometimes triggered by my purposely changing my Whatsapp profile picture (and receiving ‘that’s amazing’ and having a conversation about it) has subsequently enriched our relationship."

C Bartlett, Director of External Affairs, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation

"Creative Horizons is a fantastic project from Barclays that engages groups of ambitious young people, looking to pursue a career in the creative industries. The workshops and panel discussions offer unique insights from creative professionals that will help guide career choices, highlight the different educational or work focused routes available, and offer enlightenment into what it really takes to get into the creative and lifestyle sectors. Creative Horizons also provides a networking opportunity for the young participants to meet like-minded students from colleges, schools and academies from across the UK. A rare opportunity, and one which will definitely stand out on any future application form or CV."

I wanted to say a huge thank you for the Creative Horizons event that my daughter Eloise attended. Although, I’ve not caught up with her yet after today’s event, yesterday’s content sounded absolutely amazing. Eloise spent at least 3 hours, yesterday evening, chatting about everything she had learnt. I’m blow away by the amount she has picked up on and how inspired she has been by the people she has met. I’m truly grateful that she has received this opportunity as I think it will have a huge impact on her future.

Miss K Hofmeyr, Head of Year 12, Glenthorne High School

I was very impressed with the work that Creative Horizons have done for our students, Julia and Charlie both expressed how much they enjoyed the day and how much they learnt from the process. They also explained how they know feel ready to apply for jobs and universities in the creative sector, careers that they had never thought of before. They were also extremely keen to share their information with the fellow peers and I will definitely be sharing this video with my current Year 12s to inspire the students to submit an application.
